Class A Driver

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Deliver trailer, and trailer products while operating a tractor-trailer truck, sometimes over intercity routes or spanning several states. Must be willing and able to tarp loads. Record amount and type of cargo being delivered. Drive long distances. Fill up on fuel, clean truck, and wash windows. Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road. Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion. Follow all applicable traffic laws. Inspect their trailer before and after the trip, and record any defects they find. Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs. Keep a log of their activities. Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel. Get trailers to client on time. Take rest periods during trip. Take special precautions while driving. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. Incumbent will follow other job-related instructions and perform other job-related duties from time to time if requested by department management QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
(Education, experience, certifications etc.) Class A CDL Required Proven working experience as a truck driver Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations No recent moving or driving violations Adaptability/foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.) Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations Valid truck driving license
