The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in journalism, produce nationally-recognized research or creative activity and contribute service to the college, the university and the journalism profession. The successful candidate will have a master’s degree and 10 years of professional experience in digital or multimedia journalism or a related field. We are particularly interested in a candidate who has significant experience in digital-first journalism, a proven track record of professional achievement, teaching experience and who will continually help re-invent our curriculum as an ongoing part of their own commitment to continued professional work and development.Minimum Required Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree in journalism, mass communications or a related field at the associate level. A bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field will be considered at the assistant level. Ten years of professional experience in journalism with an emphasis is digital-first or multimedia journalism or a related field; hands-on experience using multimedia storytelling tools; evidence of successful teaching; a defined research or creative activity agenda; and demonstrated leadership skills are also required.Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include a Ph.D. in journalism, mass communications or a related field; 15 or more years of professional experience with an emphasis in digital or multimedia journalism or a related field; technical expertise in one or more of the following: computer-assisted reporting, DSLRs, audio equipment, mobile video, other multimedia storytelling tools or Adobe Creative Cloud; evidence of successful teaching at the college level; online teaching experience; evidence of published scholarly work or creative activity and experience in a leadership position.Pre-Placement Driving Record Review RequiredCriminal History Background Check RequiredNoPosted SalaryHow to Apply
