Primary Responsibilities:

  • Handlecall transfers for claims reconsiderations and member education
  • Helpguide and educate customers about the fundamentals and benefits ofconsumer-driven health care topics to select the best benefit plan options,maximize the value of their health plan benefits and choose a quality careprovider
  • Contactcare providers (doctor’s offices) on behalf of the customer to assist withappointment scheduling or connections with internal specialists for assistance
  • Assistcustomers in navigating UnitedHealth Group websites, encouraging and reassuringthem to become self-sufficient in using our tools
  • Act as aSubject Matter Expert or mentor to other team members
  • You'vegot loads of compassion, but you'll need more for this role. You'll beinteracting with members who need your help to resolve an issue. They may befrustrated and you'll have to manage the conversation with them positivelywhile multi-tasking to get to resolution.     Required Qualifications:

  • Highschool diploma / GED (or higher) OR equivalent work experience
  • 1+ yearsof Customer Service Advocate experience.
  • Familiaritywith computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability tonavigate and learn new and complex computer system applications
  • Demonstratedability to listen skillfully, collect relevant information, build rapport andrespond to customers in a compassionate manner
  • Proficientin translating health care-related jargon and complex processes into simple,step-by-step instructions customers can understand and act upon
  • Proficientconflict management skills to resolve issues in a stressful situation
